The groundhog saw his shadow so Spring better be just around the corner. The month started off with 2 nasty cold bugs hitting Brody and Joselyn hard. By the end of the week Brody had strep throat.
Brett continues to work on the basement and had the majority of the work on the walls done by the time he left for his business trip in the last week of the month.
On President’s day Martin, Brody, and I had a play date with friends. We all had a great time. The boys (all 6 of them) had a blast playing. And I had a great time catching up with my friend.

We started out the month attending our niece’s 4th birthday party. Unfortunately Joselyn was still getting over the flu so we had to leave early.
Martin did baseball clinics to get a feel for the sport. He seemed to enjoy learning about all the different positions but I don’t think it was enough to want to play. He did however get signed up with his 1st soccer league. He is beyond excited to start the season. Brett and I attended a parent/teacher conference for Martin and he is doing very well in school. His teacher is very pleased with all the hard work that Martin puts into learning and feels that he will excel the rest of the year.
During a routine dentist visit, it was found that Martin’s tooth had abcessed due to a filling he had 6 months prior. We unfortunately had to pull the tooth and he goes next month to get a spacer put it. Martin did well despite the circumstances and had the tooth fairy come visit him that night.
Brody is doing well with preschool. I have notice how much taller he has gotten and how much his face has mature in the past 6 months. It is hard to believe that next month I will start the process of registering my 2nd child for school.
Joselyn had her 18 month well visit and she is 33.25inches tall and 24.5lbs. Her doctor said she is doing well and is pleased with her progress. Joselyn is a little chatterbox and has a few words under her belt. The terrible 2s have settled in and Joselyn now gets her fair share of timeouts.
January was rough on us healthwise. Mid January had 4 of 5 of us with a stomach bug. Martin escaped that but a week later he came down with a horrible case of strep throat. Along with the all of that we experienced our share of colds.

What a busy month. I had the majority of my Christmas shopping done at the beginning of the month and by the 2nd week had all that I had wrapped. We spent the month preparing for Jesus’ birthday and Santa by reading a devotional each day.
We celebrated Judy’s birthday at Max N Ermas mid month. We also baked our Christmas cookies. Martin and Brody had their Christmas pageant at church and I must say that Brett and I had the cutest sheep on the stage. We also went to see Santa the weekend before Christmas. Joselyn was not a huge fan this year.
Joselyn had to miss it all because she got a stomach bug the day of the performance. Thankfully no one got it. She also got the flu the last week of the month.
Christmas Day was such a blast. The boys woke us up about 5am and waited patiently for my coffee to brew. Once I got my coffee the paper flew. Joselyn was more interested in seeing what Martin and Brody got. At least until Brett put her kitchen together. We packed up the kids around 9 after some play time and our traditional breakfast of cinnamon rolls and headed up the Grandma and Grandpa McCoy’s where we spent the rest of the day hanging out and opening a few more gifts.
We spend New Year’s Eve in Wellington with my family where the kids got to stomp ice patches, ride 4 wheelers and stay up late.

The 1st weekend of the month my parents and brothers came over to mud the basement. I had a great time visiting and the boys had a blast “helping” their uncles. The following weekend Brett built my raised garden beds and installed 1 of the 3. I (and the boys) are very excited to start using them. I also cleaned out the kids’ closets of outgrown/unwanted clothes and toys.

Brett had already planned to go camping this month but it just happened to be when the temperatures decided to drop to 19 degrees the 1st night. That weekend we also experienced our 1st snow of the “winter”.

We celebrated Thanksgiving at the McCoy’s where my parents joined us for a delicious meal. We also put up our Christmas tree and wrote to Santa in preparation for Christmas.

October 2014

October brought fall like weather. We had to turn the heat on for the 1st time this season. We put away all the kids summer clothes and brought out the fleece pajamas. I have been busy selling all of the kids’ clothes that they have grown out of and toys they no longer need/want.

Brett and I had our 1st parent/teach conference for Martin and we heard amazing things about our budding mathematician. His teacher couldn’t say enough about how well Martin does in class. Martin also turned 7 this month. We celebrated with the family with snacks, cake, and ice cream.

Brody continues to do well in preschool and loves to be a helper. He doesn’t like to talk about the things he learns but I will catch him talking about 1 thing or another that I know he picked up from school.
Joselyn is officially 15 months old. She will go through the motions of brushing her teeth and can get her shoes on herself (which she puts on quite often). She still is a chatter box and keeps growing and growing.

Brett went on a training business trip to Texas at the end of the month. That made for a hectic few days. Brett got back home just in time to celebrate his birthday.

Halloween was a success. We had a pirate (Martin), a skeleton (Brody), and a Bumblebee (Joselyn). They all made out like bandits and had a good time.

August 2014

October 6th, 2014

We started the month in Wellington to celebrate my uncle’s 50th birthday. We ended up back in Wellington 2 weeks later for Mommypalooza. We all had a blast hanging out with friends and family.

School started for Martin on August 13th! We officially have a 1st grader in the house. He looks the part too. He is very excited to make new friends and learn new things.

Joselyn had a small language explosion this month. She will be jabbering away and all of a sudden a word will pop out. She loves play with her brothers (which really annoys Brody) She got 2 more teeth in this month as well.

Brett is adjusting well to his new job and is loving it. It is stressful at times trying to meet deadlines for their “grand opening” this month.

The boys are back in town! Brett and the boys moved back to Ohio this month. We are all very happy to be back together under one roof again. It was a long exhausting weekend getting everything and everyone back to Ohio.

We spent the rest of the month reorganizing and unpacking all of the boxes.

Martin went to VBS and had a blast.

Brody was a little jealous but loved the extra alone time he got with me.

Joselyn is 11 months old and began officially walking at the end of May.

Joselyn is 11 months old. She started walking at the beginning of the month and is starting to point. Joselyn is very inquisitive.

We started the month with getting the framework done on the basement walls and getting some of the drywall up. It is still a work in progress. We tried to celebrate my birthday but Joselyn was not a happy camper so it did not work out as planned.

Martin continues to do well in school. Brett and I got to spend a morning with Martin at school to go over how he is being taught so that we can keep the same learning language at home. His teacher made a comment on how well Martin is doing and that his previous school really prepared him for 1st grade. Martin also joined cub scouts this month and he is super excited about that.

Brody officially started school this month. He has 1 month of preschool under his belt and he is enjoying it. He really wants to go every day. He likes to be given responsibilities at school and is proud when he gets a job to do at school.

Joselyn spent the month trying to cut 4 teeth which meant many sleepless nights for her. By far she is having the worst time of the 3 getting teeth in. She loves to climb now and will follow 1 step directions. She loves to dance and listen to music. Her new thing to do now is that she likes to brush her teeth and will actually brush them instead of chewing on the toothbrush.

July 2014

August 7th, 2014

July was another whirlwind month. We spent the 4th up at my parents and the next day we celebrated Joselyn’s 1st birthday. We spent most of this month hanging out at the house, cleaning, and getting the basement ready to have the waterproofing and steal beams put up.
I registered Martin for 1st grade and Brody for Preschool this month. I can’t believe that in September I will have 2 kids in school. My how the time flies.
Joselyn is of course 1 now and she knows it. She has mastered walking and tries to run now. She is bursting with energy and will “talk” your ear off when she is in the mood. At her well visit she was 20lbs and 30 inches long. She got her top 2 teeth in this month as well.
Martin and Brody are so helpful with their sister and around the house. It is amazing how grown up they can be when the mood suits them. And on to August where the whirlwind continues.

Brett and the boys came to OH in the middle of the month and we had a wonderful time visiting. The boys got to see the “old” house again and had fun visiting with friends and family. Brett and I attended a wedding while he was in town and we had a great time.
We got to see each other again Memorial weekend because Brett’s Uncle Leon’s health is failing and Brett wanted to see him 1 more time. While Brett was visiting Leon, I took the kids to see my parents where we rode on a gator. Martin was so proud of the fact that he got to drive the gator.

Martin took his 1st school field trip to the Richmond Zoo. He was nervous about riding the bus for the 1st time but he did great. He had a good time at the zoo and had plenty of stories to tell about it. Martin also has his 1st loose tooth.

Brody is into knock knock jokes. He could go on for hours making things up. Some of his jokes are 5 minute renditions of what the chicken does or will do.

Joselyn is 10 months old. She has 2 teeth now. She also waves, claps her hands, and shakes her head. She is also quite the little tantrum thrower. She is my little red head for sure!
